Littoral Light exhibition was held as the opening event of Ramsgate Festival 2016 in the sands between Ramsgate and Dumpton Gap. The show had been timed so that the low tide coincides with the sun setting at 9.00 pm and as the natural light fades to total darkness, the works illuminated the coastline, altering the perception of the landscape and reflecting the sounds of the environment. In this exhibition, Nozomi Watanabe installed three illuminated balloons as a symbol of astronomical object. One was placed on the tide flats and the other two were held by the visitors. Some of them said 'I've got my own moon'. She has brought the distance of the cosmos closer to our daily lives. The experience of astronomical observation would have moved them to different places in the world.
