PROJECT PAGE: Observation Points

In the project ‘Observation points’ for the Cheriton Light Festival, I installed 26 big illuminated balloons in the City of Cheriton, referring to the winter star chart in the UK. The star charts have been used for human navigation since time immemorial. Moreover, numerous stars, constellations and galaxies that exist in different spaces and times are illustrated on these start charts. The specific spatial description leads us to the perception of the special diversity. By following the map, you can discover the illuminated balloons that correspond to stars in the night sky and use them as observation points for stargazing. The experience of astronomical observation instantly moves you to different places in the world. It might even be possible to make you feel the entire scale of the universe.
